In 1984, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics(JUFE) established the Department of Economics. In 1999, the School of Economics in JUFE was established on the basis of the Department of Economics and the Department of National Economic Management —the former is Department of Planning and Statistics. 

With the deepening of the reform and opening up process and the continuous development of the socialist market economy, the status of the Chinese economy in the global economy has become increasingly important. This is a good opportunity for Chinese economists to contribute to the theoretical innovation and practical development of economics.  With the opportunity, our colleagues in the school should carry forward the spirit of hard work, truth-seeking, and practice the school motto——aiming to startups to benifit the people. After more than 20 years of development, the school has accumulated a strong academic heritage, created a brilliant historical picture, and achieved leap-forward development. At present, the School of Economics has a well-developed academic system and strong academic strength. It has trained a large number of outstanding economic students. 

Basing on the fertile soil of socialist economic construction and reform, we will continue to carry forward the spirit of JUFE, and strives to build the school into a first-class economic school with high reputation, strong competitiveness and great influence in China. In the future the school will insist on cultivating high-level innovative talents and exploring new paths for economic development in underdeveloped regions in order to serve the local economic construction better.

Though the road is long and the tast is hard, we will go on! We will continue to climb on the road of exploring the knowledge of economics and strive to contribute to China's economic and social development.
