Alumni Forum held by the School of Economics

On May 21, the School of Economics held an alumni forum and invited two outstanding alumni to return to their alma mater to share their stories of study, graduation, employment and entrepreneurial struggles, encouraging students to firmly believe in their ideals, carry forward the spirit of struggle, and contribute their youthful power with their youth and sweat to achieve the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The theme of this alumni forum is: the ideal, growth and career of economists. Graduated from the College of Economics, majoring in 99 Economics, Xiao Jian, currently the president of Shenzhen Jurisdictional Sub-branch of Huaxia Bank and the general manager of the organ department, shared the theme. He started from three parts: ideal, growth and career, and made a wonderful sharing with his own study and working experience. He encouraged the students to have personal ideals, to establish the ideals of economists, to establish great faith and realistic ideals combined with patriotic ambitions and focused interests. He guided the growth of the students from four perspectives: thinking, mentality, ability and being. They should consolidate their professional knowledge and theoretical foundation of economics, develop their basic ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing and professional ability of judging investment testing trends, and persist in learning to improve their humanity, morality and party spirit. Combined with his work experience, he spoke from the 30-year trend of enterprise development, guiding students to do a good career planning with their own interests, character, talent, and strengths in practice, remembering the institutional motto of to serve the world and the people and to be ambitious and entrepreneurial, and actively participating in the great practice of serving the people and building the motherland.

In the interactive session, alumnus Xiao Jian and alumnus Du Bin, who graduated from the School of Economics 05 majoring in economics and is now the vice president of Shenzhen Bafuyuan Capital Group, answered the students' questions and gave them detailed answers from their own growth experience about study, career planning, internship, innovation and entrepreneurship, and how to become a composite talent.

The alumni forum not only built a communication platform between alumni and students, but also enhanced students' awareness of academic and career planning and pointed out the direction for their efforts. The life experiences and insights of outstanding alumni also inspired students to continuously develop and improve their skills in their future study life. The students expressed that they should follow the example of the outstanding alumni and persevere and forge ahead.
