The University Party Committee Announces Decision on Adjustment of Chief Administrative Officer at the School of Economics

On the afternoon of December 17, 2025, in accordance with the unified arrangements of the University Party Committee, the School of Economics convened a meeting to announce the decision on adjusting the chief administrative officer of the school. Vice President Que Shandong and Xu Xiang, Head of the Organization Department, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Secretary Zou Chunfa presided over the meeting.

Vice President Que Shandong, on behalf of the university Party committee, outlined three requirements for the School of Economics' future work: First, maintain a clear political stance by thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, consciously integrating the school's development into the broader national and regional development landscape. Second, foster unity and collaboration to build momentum for development. The leadership team must take the lead in promoting solidarity and democracy, maintain close ties with faculty and students, and cultivate a harmonious and progressive atmosphere. Third, focus on enhancing the quality of education by vigorously promoting organized research, proactively serving national strategic needs, deepening industry-education integration and social services, and effectively strengthening the School's core competitiveness and social contribution.

At the meeting, Director Xu Xiang announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee: Professor Zhang Liguo will no longer be responsible for the administrative work of the School of Economics and will instead lead the overall work of the Graduate School; Professor Wang Shoukun will take charge of the overall administrative work of the School of Economics.

Professor Zhang Liguo delivered an emotional farewell address at the meeting. He reflected on his years of service at the School, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the long-term nurturing by the University Party Committee and the trust and support of all faculty and students. He sincerely apologized for any shortcomings during his tenure and pledged to continue his unwavering attention and support for the School of Economics' development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, faculty representative Wan Jingyi presented flowers to Professor Zhang Liguo, expressing gratitude for his years of dedicated efforts and important contributions to the school's development.
