A Special Briefing on the Implementation of the Provincial 15th Five-Year Plan Outline and the 2026 Board Meeting of the Provincial Macroeconomic Society Were Held at Our University

On May 13, 2026, a special briefing session on studying and implementing the provincial “15th Five-Year Plan” outline, as well as the 2026 Council Meeting of the Jiangxi Provincial Macroeconomic Society, was held at our university. The event was jointly organized by the Jiangxi Provincial Macroeconomic Society, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and the Center for High-Quality Development Research, and hosted by the School of Economics at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. Attendees included Li Qinghong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission; Liu Yaobin, Party Secretary of the university; Deng Hui, President of the university; Wen Jiangtao, Deputy Director of the Provincial Revolutionary Base Areas Office; Peng Xiaoping, President of the Provincial Macroeconomic Society; and He Yanjun, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Nanchang Municipal Development and Reform Commission. Representatives from relevant provincial-level agencies, universities, research institutes, and development and reform commissions of various prefecture-level cities, as well as heads of relevant schools and departments from our university, also attended the meeting.

Li Qinghong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, delivered a keynote speech titled “Striving to Write a Jiangxi Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization from a New and Higher Starting Point.” Held the very next day after the full text of the province’s 15th Five-Year Plan Outline was officially released, this special briefing on studying and implementing the outline was both timely and of great significance. Under the theme “Striving to Write a Jiangxi Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization from a New and Higher Starting Point,” the speech provided a profound exposition of the historical context and developmental orientation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and offered a comprehensive interpretation of the overall requirements, objectives, tasks, and major measures outlined in the provincial 15th Five-Year Plan Outline.

President Deng Hui delivered a keynote speech titled “Fully Implementing the Spirit of the National and Jiangxi Provincial 15th Five-Year Plans to Advance the Implementation of the University’s ‘2363’ Overall Development Framework.” In line with the requirements of the provincial 15th Five-Year Plan, President Deng Hui systematically elaborated on our university’s “2363” overall development framework. First, we are committed to the “Two Centenary Goals”: achieving a historic breakthrough in building first-class disciplines and making substantial progress in the three major transformations—becoming a high-level research university, a first-class digital finance and economics university, and a benchmark university serving Jiangxi. Second, we will implement three major initiatives: advancing the construction of an independent knowledge system, fostering talent through independent cultivation (integrated undergraduate-master’s-doctoral programs and interdisciplinary education for top-tier talent), and achieving self-reliance and strength in science and technology. Third, we will advance six major development initiatives: deepening efforts in disciplinary excellence, program alignment, industry-research collaborative innovation, university-enterprise-government collaborative development, international joint innovation, and AI empowerment. Fourth, we will deepen three major reform initiatives: enhancing the quality of talent cultivation through quality transformation, improving the efficiency of scientific research through efficiency transformation, and stimulating the vitality of the faculty through dynamic transformation. Through this systematic framework, the university will promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, contributing the strength of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics to the writing of the Jiangxi chapter of Chinese-style modernization.

Director Wen Jiangtao outlined the key tasks for Ganzhou City in promoting high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period from three perspectives: strengthening foundations, addressing weaknesses, and driving reform and innovation. He Yanjun, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Nanchang Municipal Development and Reform Commission and Director of the Municipal Urban Development Research Institute, presented the new blueprint for Nanchang’s development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, focusing on comprehensively enhancing the city’s core competitiveness and influence.

A book launch event was held for *Research on the Development of Jiangxi’s Green and Low-Carbon Industries*. President Peng Xiaoping introduced the research process and core arguments of the book. Liu Yaobin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, was invited to provide an expert commentary. He noted that the book closely aligns with the national “dual carbon” strategy and Jiangxi’s mission to build a national hub for ecological civilization. Through solid theoretical foundations, detailed data, and pragmatic policy proposals, it systematically addresses major issues in the development of Jiangxi’s green and low-carbon industries. He expressed hope that the publication of this book would serve as an opportunity to deepen university-local government cooperation, assist Jiangxi in transforming its ecological advantages into developmental advantages, and provide intellectual support for green and high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Following the presentation, the Provincial Macroeconomic Society convened its 2026 Council Meeting to discuss matters related to the society’s leadership transition.
