Dr. Lu Yang Delivers a Presentation on “Empowering Research Through the Application of AI Tools” at the “Biweekly Academic Seminar” At noon on September 16, the School of Economics held a biweekly academic seminar in Conference Room 815 of the North Comprehensive Building. Dr. Lu Yang, a member of the university’s AI lecturer team, delivered a presentation titled “Empowering Research Through the Application of AI Tools.” More than 40 faculty members and graduate students from the school attended the event to learn and exchange ideas.

The presentation focused on how artificial intelligence empowers scientific research and innovation. It compared traditional large language models with AI agents, introduced agent-building platforms such as Kouzhi, Coze, and Feishu, and explained practical key points such as configuring research agents, invoking plugins, and building knowledge bases. It also demonstrated the work of a research assistant capable of batch-managing literature, automatically reading documents, and extracting key research questions. Additionally, the presentation addressed the practicalities of social science research by sharing useful techniques—such as templates for paper-writing prompts—and outlining collaborative solutions for various research AI tools. It emphasized that AI serves only as an auxiliary tool for research, while core judgment and content review must still be performed by researchers. Faculty and students actively exchanged views on topics such as agent development and prompt design, fostering a vibrant academic atmosphere at the event.
