Abstract:
The aim of this lecture is to explain the main economic determinants of the current crisis (recession, public debt sustainability, external balances) that afflicts the Euro area and to discuss how economic policies can be used to alleviate and possibly solve the crisis while keeping the Euro as a common currency.
